Why we work the way we do

Soft luxury is a strange corner of ecommerce. The brands are exquisite – the packaging, the product, the in-store experience — and then you visit the website and something's off, but you can't quite put your finger on it. The feeling you got holding the product in your hands doesn't quite translate to the screen.

Why does this happen? Sometimes, brands use cookie-cutter themes. Other times, their in-house design team doesn't understand the UX paradigms that perform. Occasionally, a brand has partnered with growth-y conversion rate optimization specialists that pump the site full of traffic and tactics with little regard for the brand experience those visitors actually encounter.
These problems are natural byproducts of scale. Somewhere along the way, the soul of the brand gets lost: the site works, but it just doesn't feel like it translates the founder's vision.

I built Pact because I think that's a solvable problem — but only if you refuse to separate these disciplines. Our designers understand performance metrics. Like the founders I'm lucky enough to work with, I'm obsessive.
