Senior Developer

Pact is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer who will be responsible for the overall technical implementation of custom Shopify theme and front end development. The ideal candidate should have several years of experience in leading the development of Shopify projects, understand Shopify best practices and be comfortable working with the latest technologies.

You’ll take an active role in the development of the work, but also play an integral part in the project’s overall success – working closely with our clients to understand their goals and constraints, leading technical demos and iterating alongside our design team throughout the design and development process.

• Write high-quality, efficient code using Liquid, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, GraphQL, and other frontend frameworks
• Own medium to high complexity frontend feature development, driving both completion and quality
• Work with clients to build new Shopify sites from the ground up and implement new features
• Deliver features on time, even with limited details, designs, or requirements
• Anticipate risks and proactively provide solutions
• Distill complex requirements into actionable solutions and tasks
• Be detail-oriented and passionate about creating beautiful, functional frontend experiences with engaging animations and transitions
• Provide feedback on design completeness, feature feasibility, and implementation effort
• Review code submissions from other team members to ensure completeness, performance, and quality
• Participate and sometimes lead client meetings and demos to demonstrate project progress or gather technical requirements
• Be proactive in helping other team members when faced with technical issues or challenges

• Expert knowledge and experience with the Shopify ecommerce platform
• Strong proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, GraphQL, and other frontend technologies
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, developers, and project managers
• High attention to detail to catch issues, edge cases, and potential problems
• Sound decision-making skills to balance code quality, issue resolution, and timely code releases
• Ability to prioritize tasks and shift focus when needed to meet deadlines, raising flags if timelines are at risk

• Strong understanding of Liquid, Javascript, React, Tailwind CSS, GraphQL, REST, Git
• Experience with Shopify development including: Themes, APIs, Apps, Functions, Extensions
• 3-5 years of experience working in Ecommerce
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• Thorough knowledge and experience with front end, component driven software technology, and microservice design architecture
• An understanding of project estimates and approaches for entire assigned work
• Demonstrates high level of personal productivity
• Ability to manage commitments to multiple projects

• Past experience working at a rapidly scaling direct-to-consumer brand or ecommerce-focused agency.
• Past experience working with Jira, Confluence, Asana, Monday or other project management tools
• Understanding of accessibility and privacy compliance regulations (and how to implement them)
• Experience working with design tools such as Figma
